THE NETHERLANDS – Neuroscience and machine learning firm Alpha. One has appointed Ingrid Nieuwenhuis as head of science.
Nieuwenhuis (pictured) was formerly a quantitative researcher in Facebook’s research and development department in New York. She also has experience at Nielsen Consumer Neuroscience.
Alpha. One is based in Rotterdam and was established in 2016 to focus on neuroscience and machine learning, and where the two disciplines intersect. The company works in partnership with Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University.
Olde Olthof, co-founder of Alphas. One, said: “We have always opted for an uncommon and innovative route. Predicting human responses in a scalable model. That was not always easy, especially at the beginning.
“Now we are getting traction, it is very nice that someone with Nieuwenhuis’s track record decides to join our company.”
