US— R. Brian Gibson has been appointed chief financial officer at BuzzLogic, an online media firm that uses social media monitoring technology to place targeted adverts.
Gibson has more than 20 years of financial experience, and was most recently at online advertising firm LookSmart where he was vice president of finance and principle accounting officer.
He also previously worked as vice president of finance at data management company SenSage.
BuzzLogic CEO Dave Hills said: “Brian’s skill set and knowledge of the industry is critical to our growth in the future.”
The firm announced earlier this year that it was looking to make senior hires after being awarded $7.8m in Series C funding.
BuzzLogic began life as a social media monitoring service but has since evolved into more of an ad platform – placing marketing against relevant online content whether on forums, blogs or websites.
