AUSTRALIA – Australian quantitative research services company Conjointly has launched a $20,000 AUD grant for research on artificial intelligence (AI) safety with the use of market research techniques.
The grant will also include access to Conjointly’s market researchers and research tools to support the successful AI project.
Applications are due before 1st May 2023, with further details available here.
In a statement, Conjointly said: “Recent advances in AI have come as a surprise to many. For most people, reasoning machines were unfathomable a few months ago. Now they are available at our fingertips.
“It makes the topic of AI safety crucial. It’s not something that should be left to a small number of computer scientists. This topic must be discussed out in public, in the media, in daily conversations, at all levels of government.
“Underpinning those conversations must be good, rigorous, and timely research in this area. AI will impact all aspects of life. Hence, we must address the topic from all angles, including with market research.”
