UK — Big data start-up ERN has acquired two UK analytics companies Inspired Analytics and Elucidata to boost its offering to banks and retailers.
ERN’s global big data analytics platform – Looop – allows banks and merchants to aggregate and analyse data generated by card transactions, helping them develop highly targeted loyalty schemes and offers for individual customers.
Inspired Analytics director of analytics Jim Jeffrey will become ERN’s analytics director, while managing director of Elucidata James Baldwin becomes managing director of ERN’s Analytical Consulting Division.
ERN has already added two former Mastercard senior managers – Anant Patel and Brian Eagle-Brown – to its team in early 2013 and plans to increase its headcount in its London headquarters as well as continuing to build up its teams in Silicon Valley and Singapore.
“James, Jim and their consulting and analytics teams will bring years’ worth of knowledge and experience into our team, helping us to strengthen the Looop big data analytics platform and offer even greater analytical insights to our global clients,” said Dan Brassington (pictured), CEO and co-founder of ERN.
