CANADA— Former Ipsos Reid president Steve Mossop has launched a new agency, Insights West, to serve private and public sector clients in west Canada.
The new firm launches with an online consumer panel, YourInsights.ca, which Mossop says “is on track to become the biggest, most technologically advanced research panel in this market”. The sample, which is on target to recruit 10,000 respondents from western Canada by the end of the month, will be managed by Toluna’s PanelPortal software platform.
Mossop (pictured) said: “There is plenty of talent in this market, but no single research company that pulls everything together for the benefit of the western Canadian business community. Our aim is to build a company based on entrepreneurial spirit, passion for marketing research, integrity, community giving and fun while providing best-in-class research to clients in BC and Alberta, and beyond.”
For 18 years Mossop oversaw Angus Reid’s and Ipsos Reid’s Western practice. He left Ipsos Reid’s Western division at the start of the year to work on the launch of Insights West.
Former Ipsos and Vision Critical employees Jane Ha-Trapp and Raquel Henry have joined the team at Insights West: Ha-Trapp as VP and Henry as strategic consultant for the panel. Don Miller will join the company soon as CFO.
