SOUTH AFRICA— Media group Kagiso Media has acquired a majority stake in brand analytics and research consultancy KLA.
KLA’s owners, husband and wife team Joel Kaufman and Robyn Levin, founded the agency in 1991 but moved to Australia in 2004 appointing Stephanie Matterson as MD to run the company. However, they have decided now to sell their interest in the business.
Murphy Morobe (pictured), CEO at Kagiso Media, said: “KLA is a perfect fit for our company, as we proceed to build a formidable information and marketing services division. Though KLA will continue to operate as a standalone business, it will however be positioned to work with other Kagiso Media divisions to leverage the natural synergies which exist.”
KLA’s clients include SAB, Colgate Palmolive, Coca-Cola, Nedbank, Liberty and Edcon.
