SWITZERLAND— Kantar Media has appointed Matthias Hartl to the newly created role of managing director of Kantar Media Audiences Switzerland.
The new role has been created following the company’s appointment by Mediapulse to deliver television audience measurement services in the country from January 2013 until December 2018. Hartl joins the firm following a spell as a consultant.
Mediapulse will deploy Kantar Media’s 5000 series PeopleMeter and VirtualMeter technology to a panel of 1,870 homes to track television viewing habits, including both linear television and online viewing.
Hartl will be based at Kantar Media’s new offices in Bern and will report to Eitan Kassif, regional director of Kantar Media Audiences. The office will employ 32 people and extends Kantar Media’s global presence to over 60 markets worldwide.
Richard Marks, global CEO of Kantar Media Audiences, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Matthias to the company. He brings to Kantar Media a wealth of project management experience which will be invaluable as we continue to build our audience measurement panel in Switzerland ready for early 2013. Working in partnership with Mediapulse and our central team, Matthias will lead a dedicated team whilst investing in new technology and expertise to plan for the future.”
