US— Nielsen has appointed Rick Kash as vice chairman and Mitchell Habib as chief operating officer, effective 1 January 2012.
Kash (pictured) is founder of Nielsen subsidiary The Cambridge Group, where he currently serves as chairman. He joins chief executive David Calhoun and vice chair Susan Whiting in the Office of the CEO. Habib has led Nielsen’s Global Business Services organisation since it was formed in 2007
Calhoun said: “Rick has dedicated his career to understanding consumer demand and helping clients use consumer demand as a business model to operate their companies and as a strategy to grow profitably. We look forward to his expanded role and contributions.”
The firm said that the promotion of Habib, who was chief information officer for CitiGroup’s North America consumer businesses earlier in his career, “acknowledges the significant contributions the Global Business Services organisation has made” under his leadership.
