US— Ex-Ipsos ASI man Mark Turim has been appointed president of the NPD Group’s Asia Pacific operations.
Turim has served in a wide range of senior positions in the research business and was most recently the global head of operations and chief operating officer of Ipsos ASI. Before that he was CEO and global chief operating officer for Research International’s Latin America business.
The appointment marks a return to the NPD Group for Turim who once served as head of its Chicago, Canada and Mexico operations.
In his new role he will now oversee all of NPD’s point of sale and consumer tracking work in Asia Pacific across sectors including beauty, sports, toys and videogames.
He will report to Tom Lynch, NPD’s chief operating officer. Lynch said: “In addition to Mark building the existing businesses in Asia, he will be working with the NPD businesses to take our tracking services to new countries.”
