US— A new DIY consumer opinion research service called PollBuzzer has gone live which claims it can “harness the crowd-sourcing potential of the internet and text messaging, but do it in a focused and representative way”.
The start-up has been co-founded by Noah Sefton, a former management consultant at Bain & Company, and former peerVue software developer Matt McLoughlin. They serve as CEO and CTO of the business respectively.
The Cambridge, Massachusetts based business claims to offer “a broad and deep panel of respondents guaranteed to provide immediate survey feedback, to provide almost real-time opinions to the businesses asking the questions”.
Corporate clients can create an online, customised questionnaire with multiple choice answers. Clients choose the number of target respondents to poll then choose a turnaround time of one to six hours, with prices ranging from $3.00 per respondent for a one-hour turnaround to $1.50 per respondent for a six-hour turnaround.
The move comes just a week after DIY online survey tool KwikSurveys cancelled all paid subscriptions and announced plans to close down after its website was targeted by hackers and taken offline on 25 June.
