US— Online panel and data collection firm Research Now has appointed Kevin Murphy as chief technology officer, a newly created role at the company.
Murphy has spent the last 30 years in the IT industry, and was most recently senior vice president of retail and alliance services product delivery at electronic payment firm First Data Corporation. He has also spent time with retailer Bed, Bath & Beyond, The Home Depot, Delta Technology and Citibank.
At Research Now he will lead the firm’s global technology activities and drive technology-related initiatives. Research Now said that the role has been created following the interim CIO position held by Jimmy Niemann.
CEO Chris Havemann said: “Technology is a critical enabler of our strategy to bring the highest quality, innovative data collection and reporting capabilities to our market research clients worldwide. Kevin’s deep experience in delivering technology solutions will be a huge asset, and I am delighted to welcome him to the Research Now team.”
The firm has also launched a new smartphone app that gives users access to Research Now panels through their handsets. A version for the Apple iPad is set to be introduced in “the coming weeks”.
