US— Neuromarketing agency Sands Research is claiming a ‘breakthrough’ in the field with technology that enables sensors to capture brainwave activity 10,000 times per second.
Chairman and CEO Steve Sands said that firm has upgraded its hardware to increase its data collection speed using electroencephalography (EEG) by ten times from 1,000 times per second.
The new technology allows the firm to collect much more detailed data than competitors, said Sands.
The firm said it has also developed a method of eliminating interference from muscle and eye movements by picking out motor neuron activity.
Sands added: “The advancement in sample rate technology allowed us to implement new signal processing algorithms with the ability to eliminate artifact coming from muscle and eye-related movements – a key issue for potentially corrupting EEG data collection.”

Hi Steve! Perhaps you remember coming to ASU to hook up Alan Alda for me years ago. I would like to talk to you about a proposal for a new EEG product. I am sure you are very busy, but if you have time, my email is listed above! Thank You! Debbie Crews, Ph.D. ASU
