US— Social publishing website Scribd has launched a free analytics service that lets users know how many people are reading the documents they have uploaded to the site.
The firm said that the new Scribd Stats tool is “like Google Analytics for documents”, providing site users with information on which of their documents people are reading and sharing the most, how people are finding them and which papers they are spending the most time reading.
A dashboard screen provides users with stats for all the documents they have uploaded to Scribd, including information about where their readers are from and whether documents have been shared on social media sites.
Deema Tamimi, the website’s director of product marketing, said: “As a marketer myself, I understand the tremendous value in knowing how people are finding my content, where they’re coming from and which content is fuelling the most social activity. The possibilities – for content programming, user targeting, branding and advertising – are truly endless.”
