US— Electronics industry research agency and consultancy IMS Research has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea.
The office will be led by Harry (Sung Dong) Cho, who was previously vice president of the multimedia division at technology firm PQI and before that held various engineering and marketing roles at Samsung Semiconductor.
Dkins (Dae Kwon) Cho, previously director of LED sales at Dominant Semiconductors Korea, has been appointed senior analyst for LEDs and displays.
IMS president Ian Weightman said: “We are continuing to expand our coverage of markets such as LEDs, displays, consumer electronics, semiconductors and PV, and an analyst presence in Korea is vital to ensure we have a deep understanding of the dynamics that will drive these markets. In addition, having a direct sales presence in Seoul will enable us to serve our Korean clients better.”
