AUSTRALIA— IT research agency Springboard Research has acquired independent IT analyst firm Hydrasight for an undisclosed amount.
Springboard said the acquisition would expand its coverage areas in the Asia Pacific region and allow it to provide services that specifically target enterprise-class consumers.
Dane Anderson, Springboard’s CEO and EVP of research, said: “Springboard has continued to grow exponentially since its inception and we believe the global financial crisis has strengthened our company rather than weakened it. The acquisition of Hydrasight enables us to deliver new research services tailored to the unique end-user needs of commercial enterprises and public sector organisations in the Asia Pacific region.”
Hydrasight research director John Brand (pictured), who founded the firm in 2005, will now lead a new “end-user focused” service at Springboard which will combine expertise from both firms.
The deal is set to be completed by mid-2010 and Hydrasight will continue to operate as normal until it is integrated into Springboard.
