US — In-app feedback tool Apptentive has raised $5.3m in its series A funding round, led by SurveyMonkey.
This represents SurveyMonkey’s first investment, and will see Damon Cronkey, SurveyMonkey’s vice president of Corporate Development and Strategy, join Apptentive’s board.
Other investors included Origin Ventures, Golden Venture Partners and Founders Co-Op. On technology news site TechCrunch, Apptentive co-founder and CEO Robi Ganguly is quoted as saying: “What’s unique about this is that SurveyMonkey is leading the round and this is the first time they’re making an investment in a company.
“We think it speaks to what we’ve accomplished so far in helping companies communicate and hear from their mobile customers. This is a pretty exciting milestone for our company.”
