UK – The Football Association (FA) has appointed Philip Belsey as research and insights lead.
Belsey (pictured) was previously director at Ipsos, where he spent more than two years, and has other prior roles at Sky, Samsung, Virtualstock and 2CV.
In his new role, Belsey will lead day-to-day activities of the FA’s five-strong research and insight team, and replaces Harriet Jowett.
The FA’s research and insight function spans the whole organisation, covering divisions responsible for driving participation and education in football through to commercial and marketing.
The research and insight team’s role is to ensure the voice of the player, coach, parent and club is at the heart of decision making at the FA.
David Prime, head of strategy, insights & data at the FA, said: “We are delighted that someone of Phil’s pedigree and experience has agreed to join the FA.
“Understanding our participants and the broader football workforce is at the heart of everything we do and Phil will play a key role in this moving forward.”
