AUSTRALIA – Data and insights company Pureprofile has released a video survey capability using AI-generated avatars to help capture respondent feedback.

The avatars will help capture non-verbal responses to questions, tone and emotional reactions that are otherwise missed by text-based surveys, Pureprofile said.

The video survey tool also has access to a library of more than 127 human-like or cartoon-style avatars covering more than 170 languages, with survey responses processes and analysed for sentiment by Pureprofile’s AI coding tool.

Pureprofile said that by incorporating AI avatars and its AI coding tool into surveys, businesses could significantly reduce costs and time spent on survey creation and analysis.

The release also follows the recent formation of Pureprofile’s product innovation team focused on developing data and AI tools for the business.

Pureprofile chief product officer Niamh Fitzpatrick said: “Pureprofile’s AI-driven video survey capabilities elevate market research by appealing to our innate human need for interactive and engaging experiences, thereby making their feedback even more genuine, instinctive and emotive.

“Traditional surveys require written responses that may miss non-verbal cues and emotional nuances that add greater context. Video surveys enable brands to gather meaningful insights quickly, cost-effectively and at scale in a privacy-safe way, empowering smarter decisions with richer, more efficient data.”
